Riverview Park & Zoo

Laura (Carrie's sister) invited us to the Zoo on Saturday. Had we known it was going to take as long as it did to get there we might have said no. So to the Zoo we went. As soon as we took Max out of the car some strangers exclaimed "oh, a baby" and decided to gather round to have a look.

After escaping the strangers we saw some Turkey taking a picture of Turkeys. (Kirk, [Laura's Husband] Michaila and Jacob)

As we continued our tour we witnessed a Donkey being a real Jack Ass as he tried to bite the other Burro. As you can see he got what was coming to him.

The rest of the tour pictures are continued on the next blog post.

Riverview Park & Zoo (more animals)

Here is a nice close-up of one of those Turkeys. They really are UGLY.

Here is a North American River Otter. There where two of these guys(or girls?) They appeared to be having a good time running around and playing in the water.

We also got to see a Cougar who was nice enough to perch himself up on the top of his home so we could get a photo of him.

This is a picture of a Squirrel Monkey. I think they were my favorite. They just looked so cute and cuddly.

Honorable mention goes to the Black and White Ruffed Lemurs who where making a horrible racket but wouldn't hold still for a photo. Also to the Camel, Fox, Goat, Ox, and others that didn't make it into this blog.

there and back again

This morning Max decided that we should all go to the hospital. After his 6am meal he threw up what we believe to be a bit of blood. Neither Carrie or I thought it was cause for too much concern because he didn't seem to be in any pain. So I left for work, Carrie still being a bit anxious decided to put her fears to rest and called "telehealth." Well after talking to them Carrie called me and told me that we should take Maximilian to the ER. So I told my customer that I was leaving, drove home, picked up Carrie and Max and off to the hospital we went.

By 10am we where back home with a clean bill of health. The nurses and doctors couldn't find anything wrong with him so they gave him a NYD status and sent us on our way. It looks like this was an isolated incident and that there is nothing to worry about.

Baby Bits

the other day Max was making funny noises, as he does when he is just getting to sleep. so I grabbed the camera and tried to make a sound recording of him. It didn't work out so well, there was too much static noise so I switched over to camera mode and took some pictures because he looked so peaceful sleeping there. then the thought occurred to me that I could I could change over to macro mode and possible get some neat close up shots.

I think they are pretty neat so I am sharing them here.
